I’ll be in Phoenix this weekend for my first Phoenix Comicon. I’ll be signing STEED & MRS. PEEL and ICE AGE (or anything else you bring) at the BOOM!/kaBOOM! booth and be participating in at least 2 panels (both on Friday). The panels:
THE PITCH Friday 1:20-2:30PM Room 124A If you ever want to write for a publisher, you have to master the art of the pitch. Writers and editors discuss the art of the pitch and how to get the attention of publishers.
MARKETING YOUR COMIC TO RETAILERS Friday, 7:30-8:30PM Room 125B So you created a comic… Now how do you get people to read it? Come learn from other fans how they got the creations in the hands of the comic book retailers and other outlets. Your comic could be in more stores than you think.
In which I get incredibly nerdy about my January to March writing productivity:
The total count was over 207 pages. 132 pages comics (blue) and 75 pages prose (red). As you can see, the general pattern was brief periods off, followed by spikes in production, generally clustered around when things were due. (via PAGECOUNTING: 1st Quarter 2013 | Caleb Monroe)
I’ll be at WonderCon in Anaheim this weekend, Friday and Saturday March 29-30.
I will mostly be a nomad, seeing what I can see and catching up with friends, but there’s one definite place and time you’ll be able to find me: the Breaking into Comics panel! Here are the details:
Breaking into Comics Friday March 29, 2013 3:30pm - 4:30pm; Room 203 Are you an aspiring comic book writer or artist? Then we’ve got the panel for you! Join BOOM! Studios editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon and other comic book professionals (that’s me!) as they give you practical advice on how to make your comic book dreams come true.
I will be attending Emerald City Comic Con this weekend in Seattle! While I’ve never been, I’ve had the show’s praises sung to me many times on many occasions, so I’m very much looking forward to it.
I will be signing all day every day (with appropriate food and bathroom breaks, of course) at either the BOOM! booth (#2002) or the kaBOOM! booth (#2102), which are right next to one another. Signing STEED & MRS. PEEL (issue #5 out today!) or ICE AGE, respectively. Come by any time and say hello. Especially if you come in Steed and Peel cosplay or crossplay.

Caleb Monroe and Yasmin Liang take you through Steed And Mrs Peel #4, out this week from Boom!
Caleb Monroe: Welcome! This particular issue is quite near and dear to our hearts; mine because this is my first solo issue after a killer arc co-written with Mark Waid, and Yasmin’s because it’s her first issue on the book. It’s also self-contained, so if you’ve heard or wondered about the series and been looking for a place to jump on and sample the goods, this is it. DOUBLE, coming soon from Vito Delsante, Julian Lopez and myself!

Seeing Jodorowsky’s DUNE-that-never-was has been one of the great “I wish”es of my life. Can’t wait for this documentary.
Poster for the upcoming documentary about Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Dune (possibly the greatest Sci-Fi film that never was). The poster is released by Mondo. More info about the film and the great lineup of artists who worked on the pre-production can be found here.
That’s my co-writer, folks!
I’m gonna relish this one for a long time…thanks @TheRealStanLee
